Maintenance suits
For a wife, children or both, including interim maintenance.
A husband has a duty to maintain his wife and children, and a wife is entitled to the dower (haq mehr) agreed at the nikah. A wife may also claim the return of dowry articles. When these are not paid, a suit can be filed in the family court under the Family Courts Act, 1964.
Evidence decides these cases, including the nikahnama, proof of income and lists of items. We help you gather it, work out what can reasonably be claimed and present it clearly. We also act for husbands who need to respond to a claim or ask for a fair order.
